Regional Workshops (2010): PRI CB&T- Planning & Delivery, November-December 2010,
(Three Workshops - Goa, Udaipur, Lucknow)
Supported under MoPR-UNDP Capacity Development for Local Governance (CDLG) Project
With a view to create opportunities for the States to share their experiences in the area of PRI CB&T strategies/approaches currently being followed by them and their achievements with respect to State-specific training targets, along with learning from each other, MoPR organised three regional workshops in Goa (November 09-10, 2010), Udaipur (November 24-25, 2010) and Lucknow (December 06-07, 2010). These workshops were a follow-up to similar workshops organised in 2009, which had proved to be extremely useful for the States.

The workshops were attended by 45 senior officers from the Panchayati Raj Departments and State Training Institutes of 26 States and Union Territories. There were guest sessions taken by Resource Persons to discuss issues ranging from PRI CB&T Delivery in Cascading Mode, experiences from Rajasthan to PRI CB&T Technology Innovations, experiences from Andhra Pradesh, and Key Elements of PRI CB&T Outsourcing.
The participating States made presentations on the overall status of PRI CB&T in the State, State-specific PRI CB&T strategy/approach, use of training and reference materials, need and evidence-based training design, use of modern technology, provision of handholding support, and exposure visits and study tours conducted by the State for the elected representatives and functionaries. The States also submitted at the end of each workshop a factsheet with detailed data related to the overall status of PRI in the State, a list of successful Gram Panchayats of the States and five key take away resolutions from the workshops.
“The ‘Reference Guide for Outsourcing PRI Capacity Building and Training (CB&T) related activities’ was released at the third and final workshop at Lucknow on 07 December, 2010 by Mr. A.N.P Sinha, Secretary Ministry of Panchayati Raj, Government of India.”
